If you've seen the movie "Ford vs. Ferrari", you probably fell in love with this car. Today, the prototype of the legendary Shelby GT350R, which Caroll Shelby used for testing and piloted by Ken miles in 1965, is for sale. The car was restored six years ago.
This Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R will be put up for auction, organized by Mecum Auctions, and its price may exceed the amount received for the Mustang, by Steve McQueen in the movie Bullit, and sold for 3.74 million euros. This is a record that this prototype must overcome to become the world's most expensive Mustang ever sold at auction.
Tracks and engines tested on this prototype at Green Valley Raceway in the us state of Texas with the famous Ken miles at the wheel, proved to be the best. Now there are only 34 such cars in the world.
In 1966, the car underwent an upgrade when it was owned by collector bill Clawson. A GT40 engine with a racing specification appeared under the hood, which remained there until today. In 2010, the car ended up in the garage of another collector, who sought the help of former employees of Caroll Shelby for a full recovery.
The Mustang has a Best in Class award in its track record, received in 2014. Mecum auction house believes that this copy will sell for $ 3.74 million.
